The four abstracts submitted by the CO2-DISSOLVED team were all accepted: two of them for an oral presentation and two of them for poster presentation at the12th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT-12), to be held in Austin, TX (USA) on October 5 – 9, 2014. We thank the organizing committee for giving us the opportunity to present the CO2-DISSOLVED project. The full program is available on the conference website.
The abstracts are available on the conference website:
- "CO2-DISSOLVED: a novel concept coupling geological storage of dissolved CO2 and geothermal heat recovery – Part 1: Assessment of the integration of an innovative low-cost, water-based CO2 capture technology" by C. Kervévan (BRGM), M.-H. Beddelem (CFG Services), K. O’Neil (Partnering in Innovation, Inc.). ORAL presentation scheduled on Wednesday October 8th, Session 9D (16:00-17:20).
- "CO2-DISSOLVED: a novel concept coupling geological storage of dissolved CO2 and geothermal heat recovery – Part 2: Assessment of the potential industrial applicability in France, Germany, and the U.S.A.", by C. Castillo (BRGM), S. Knopf (BGR), C. Kervévan (BRGM), F. May (BGR). ORAL presentation scheduled on Wednesday October 8th, Session 9D (16:00-17:20).
- "CO2-DISSOLVED: a novel concept coupling geological storage of dissolved CO2 and geothermal heat recovery – Part 3: Design of the MIRAGES-2 experimental device dedicated to the study of the geochemical water-rock interactions triggered by CO2 laden brine injection", by A. Randi (GeoRessources), J. Sterpenich (GeoRessources), J. Pironon (GeoRessources), C. Kervévan (BRGM), M.-H. Beddelem (CFG Services), C. Fléhoc (BRGM). POSTER presentation on Tuesday 7th October, Session A (13:40-15:40).
- "CO2-DISSOLVED: a novel concept coupling geological storage of dissolved CO2 and geothermal heat recovery – Part 4: Preliminary thermo-hydrodynamic simulations to assess the CO2 storage efficiency", by V. Hamm (BRGM), C. Kervévan (BRGM), D. Thiéry (BRGM). POSTER presentation on Wednesday 8th October, Session B (13:40-15:40).
Full papers will be written for each of these abstracts by mid-September, and should be available through the conference website soon after the end of the conference.
It has to be noticed that another abstract presenting the "Pi-CO2" technology and initiated by Partnering in Innovation was accepted for a POSTER presentation; BRGM and CFG Services are associated to this paper entitled "Pi-CO2 Aqueous Post-Combustion CO2 Capture: Proof of Concept through Thermodynamic, Hydrodynamic, and Gas-Lift Pump Modeling", by G. Blount (SRNL & Partnering in Innovation, Inc.),M. Gorensek (SRNL), L. Hamm (SRNL), K. O’Neil (Partnering in Innovation), C. Kervévan (BRGM), M.-H. Beddelem (CFG Services). POSTER presentation on Tuesday 7th October, Session A (13:40-15:40).
